'Prison Architect' Heading to Consoles This Spring

The pop PC simulation game Prison Architect is headed to PlayStation 4, Xbox 1, and Xbox 360 this bound. For the uninitiated, Prison Architect lets yous build and control your own prison — just what you always wanted to exercise, right?
Developed by British studio Introversion Software, the game was crowdfunded in 2022 and had a "fruitful existence" as a Steam Early on Admission title earlier its official release on PC this October, co-ordinate to PCMag'southward sister site IGN. The game has been quite popular, selling more than 1.5 million copies to date, and Introversion has now partnered with Double Eleven to bring it to consoles.
"Y'all command every detail of your Prison — from edifice new cells and facilities to hiring staff and creating reform programs… all while dealing with informants, contraband smuggling, gang warfare, full scale riots, and a lot more," Introversion Director Mark Morris wrote in a Wednesday post on the PlayStation weblog.
Y'all'll commencement your Prison Architect journey by playing through the game's chief campaign, dubbed Prison Stories. There, you'll outfit a small prison with everything it needs, and eventually move upwardly in the ranks and bargain with emergencies — everything from fires and riots to demolition and construction.
"Don't worry, though, you can build an armory containing tasers, guns, and other lethal weaponry to keep order," Morris wrote. "If you make information technology through all that unscathed, the Mayor will be set up to give you the reigns of a brand new prison house development where you can build the prison of your dreams."
